Easy Jam Squares


These super-simple, delicious, egg-free jam squares or bars whip up in 20 minutes from everyday pantry ingredients, with your choice of jam!


Line and grease a 9"x9". Preheat oven to 170°C/340°F.

Cream the butter and sugar. 

Add in the flour, baking powder and salt. Mix to form a soft dough. 

Press the dough into the bottom of the tin.   

Spread the jam over the shortbread base.   

Crumble the last of dough over the jam. Bake for 35-40 minutes.   

Allow to cool before slicing.
